Setting tcp ip argument while booting up linux

Hi all,

Could somebody explain me how to set the tcp ip parameter while linux boots up in my custom board.

Currently i am giving it like :... tcp ip=:::::eth0:dhcp ...

If i have my own static ip and its corresponding mac-id can i change it for my board when i boot up.

Please help with valuable pointers.

Thanks,
Sen

What part of that doesn't work? You've garbled it so much that it is unintelligible. How are you 'giving it like'?

A bootloader can supply kernel arguments. What bootloader are you using? Or, you can build a kernel with a custom commandline.

If you talk about TCP parameter in configuration file under etc directory, yes, you can change to anything you want.
