Minimal zoneinfo

Regarding the zoneinfo files, what's the minimum I can get away with and still be able to support all timezones (this is for a product that will be marketed all over North America, Europe and Asia, perhaps elsewhere).

Can I just copy /usr/share/zoneinfo/posix from Slackware-current into /usr/share/zoneinfo on the board and be okay with everything? I presume the tzdata files are portable? If not I can probably extract them from the Debian tzdata package.

The system will be running a custom uClibc based linux setup, with busybox, dropbear and some custom apps.

I guess since uClibc doesn't support the zoneinfo stuff, DST support is ruled out.

I wonder if glibc is doable instead...

Well uClibc does support DST. Other than having to implement a time zone table in the UI, it shouldn't be too difficult to implement. The only issue will be if DST gets updated again somewhere, an update will require replacing just about every binary on the system since they're all built with uClibc.
