IAR kickstart (str750)

Hi,

I bought this board a year ago:
http://www.iar.se/website1/1.0.1.0/6...prod_grp-s1/33
I used it under windows.

Now I'm trying to use this board under linux. I tried to use minicom (usb serial converter) but I can not.

Had someone tried to use it under linux ?

thx.

Generally in programming embedded devices I would not recommend USB2Serial converters. They tend to introduce stability and/or feasability issues.

I use http://www.conserver.com/ to connect to routers, switches and other devices under Linux. I think that embedded devices work as well.

To give the opposing view, I will say that we have used Keyspan USB to Serial adapters for programming a wide variety of devices. We also use them under Linux for a wide variety of operations. We have never had a problem in either case.

Brianmcgee, David1357,

Thanks for you replies.

I don't think that the problem come from usb serial converter. I tested it under some other boards and it worked fine.

I think that the problem come from JTAG.
Under windows, it is used to flash and to power the board.

If I try to use minicom, I must keep jtag connected to power the board. I think the problem comes from here.

Omda.
