Failed to read USB1-1 device descriptor of the plugged-in device

When I insert a USB device(Pen drive or Mouse) in the USB slot of the MIPS based embedded card it gives following error

USB1-1 device descriptor read/64 error 145

error 145 corresponds to timeout error

The problem as i understand is that the host controller is unable to read the device descriptor which contains the device information. But no clue how to solve it

Hi,

Try this it may help you.

(remove this module)
Quote:

modprobe -r ehci_hcd

(insert this module)

Quote:

modprobe ohci_hcd
Then you could mount in the usual way - create a directory
Quote:

mkdir /media/usbdisk
then assuming the device is /dev/sdb

Quote:

mount /dev/sdb /media/usbdisk

Not working!!
ehci_hcd is not loaded by default
i load ohci_hcd module before inserting the USB device

after inserting the USB device it shows same error mentioned in the first thread and
No new device is added in the /dev directory after insertion of USB device
