ELDK V4.0 is for ARM 11, will it do my job? Is it backward compatible?

Hi. I am also using Mini2440 board. I guess, it should also support ARM9. Let me check it and get back to you.

And whats your target goal on this board and why you are stick with ELDK?. If you are only looking for cross compilation tool, then why you should not try this code-sourcery tools?

DENX, the company behind ELDK, is mostly focused on PowerPC, therefor I would not recommend using it for ARM. It will probably work... but are you sure you want to be among the very few people who actually use ELDK on ARM?

As was previously suggested, Code Sourcery toolchain is a good option. Another option would be to create one using crosstools-ng.
