I hope my question is not too trivial, but i'm not that fluid in Linux.
My Question:
I am working on a multimedia-application with the Leopardboard, an Image-Sensor and the RidgeRun-SDK.
Now i want to build my GStreamer Application into the Board.
RidgeRun offers the following method: https://developer.ridgerun.com/wiki/...e_Applications (some make/config files, that only have to modify for your own needs)
And they work fine, i could compile and execute my application easy!
But it is very circuitous to modify each file, hit make clean, make install etc.
So i want to know, if there's any way to work on the code in my IDE ( Eclipse CDT) and compile/link the project in it and copy the binary to the Board? ( Long Story short: can i "translate" the action, performed by "make install" , into a gcc compiler/linker command ?)
This is the output of the "make" command ( sorry, it's a bit long )
Code:
armin@armin-desktop:~/RidgeRun-SDK-DM36x-Turrialba-Eval/myapps/server_and_gstreamer$ make VERBOSE=1

i think the important lines are " /usr/bin/ccache arm-none-linux-gnueabi-gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H.... etc" but that's only a gues...
Sooo, thank you for reading and i hope you can bring me some light into this
I'm not really familiar with those boards, but you can surely run builds from eclipse and parse the log output. Just you need to specify build actions.
Use something like this in Eclipse "arm-none-linux-gnueabi-gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I.. -Wall -O2 -mcpu=arm926e......" doesnt work, because he doesn't recognize "arm-none-linux-gnueabi-gcc" and using "arm-linux-gnueabi-gcc" producing errors about unknown dataformat.
I have installed the toolchain ( /opt/..) and there is the "arm-none-linux-gnueabi-gcc" but i have no idea, how to use/acces him..
eclipse has separate cross compiler settings, you need of course set those up correctly
however,
if you have an existing makefile, go
file, import, c/c++ project, existing sourcefiles with makefiles, (something like this) ...
to have a fully working eclipse with auto completition you need than also tell the indexer where to find the compiler, where the headers,...
this can be a bit tricky if you do it the first time, or after a half year, but just click through the C++ Build and C++ General options in the project properties, check what you can do and try out a view things
unlikely, i wasnt able to solve my problem.... the pattern is a AutoTools-Project, so i tried the autoTools-Plugin in Eclipse, but this hasn't worked out well..
As a "solution", i wrote myself a little shell-script, what does the work for me, not perfect, but better then nothing
