BARE BOARD debugging vs LINUX based bord

Hi all

In bare board debugging we can use simulators for design time and debuggers for run time like in KEIL
compiler and many others.

My question is: how simulation at design time and debugging at run time is done with LINUX based boards ?

What tool chain is used for simulation and debugging ?

Thanks
Elico

Spice and spinoffs. It started as a unix program, but was so inscrutable everyone wrote front ends for it.
