any existing busybox package has ext3 support ?

we're using busybox, when trying to extend from ext2 to ext3,
have plenty of trouble.

any existing package we can use ?
even not busybox.

thx !

Generally I'd wonder why you need journalling etc on a device where busybox is appropriate, but other people do ask this too it seems... http://serverfault.com/questions/354...d-ext4-support

Compile e2fsprogs with static linking and choose the binaries you need from it. You probably only need mk2fs (which makes all kinda of file systems - mkfs.ext4 is just a symlink to it.

If you can't get static compiling to work "ldd mk2fs" will at least show which libearies you need to install.

I hate to ask such a dumb question but, what does busybox have to do with the filesystem? The kernel ought to support the filesystem and the file busybox ought to be transparent to it. Or did I just goof this up?

busybox has utilities e.g. mkfs, mount ...

OK, I get it now. Thanks.

Do they have to be inside busybox, can you add them as standalone or are you in a pinch for space?

well, this is exactly my question,
if someone knows how to make it work in busybox, that'll be the best solution.
Otherwise if someone has a separate utility for ext3 for arm9, that'll save us as well.

The issue is we've put some time trying to build these, no success yet.

we tried to download the mount package from debian website, it segmentation fault when trying ext3.
this is for arm9 processor.

build mount from source for arm, no work either.

anyone tried it before ?

thanks again !
