Questions of uClinux with MINI2440 s3c2440 EVB

Hi all,

I am developing a device which has a usb with iSCSI I/O and I'm starting from port a uClinux on MINI2440 with s3c2440 processor. I have found that no one is working uClinux on this board. All I want is port a unix-like OS on it as slim as possible, but I found many users pefer using Linux rather than uClinux, so I really want to know more information about following:

1. Is it possible to port a uClinux on it? if yes, how difficult to do this?

2. What are those steps that I should be aware of when I porting a uClinux on this board with this situation?

3. I want to make it as easy as possible, so should I buy another board for using uClinux?

I wish anyone and help me even though my questions are stupid enough. Thanks.

Since the s3c2440 has an MMU, I don't know why you would want to use uClinux. Here's an excellent overview of uClinux:

The reason is Skyeye simulator, I intend to sim a OS on it. But it seems that Skyeye support uClinux, not Linux right?

I know s3c2440 has MMU and uClinux is not support MMU. But can I just turn off the MMU of the board and porting uClinux on it?

Thanks for your reply!

Skyeye supports linux, instructions are here:
http://skyeye.wiki.sourceforge.net/Linux

Of course you should be able to run uClinux on it, whether it's worth the effort depends on the amount of work getting applications adapted to it.
