White Box Linux and CentOS

Hello every one. I was just wondering what people thought about White Box Linux and CentOS. I am going to build a new Linux box for my music distribution and production company and would like to know if Any of these distros would be capable of handling both pro audio production(later video production) as well as handle the business side of things. Any kind of input would be much appreciated.

Well depending on your needs in terms of audio production and what features you need those distributions may be a bit behind the curve for you. Those two are still based on RHEL 4 since RHEL 5 hasn't been released so they are building off of fairly old systems. If you're looking to do things like Audio/Video production, I would push more towards Fedora Core or maybe even Mandriva. They both have relatively new packages and are pretty stable. I use Mandriva without problems on my laptop, server, and a desktop at home.

For business use though White Box or CentOS would be good. I just feel that maybe the audio/video production software may be lacking, though this is just my suspicion and I have used those OS's before but only on servers at work so newer packages were not a thing I was in need of.

So what would you think about ubuntu in the lines of audio video. I have started with fedora core but have been using ubuntu, kubuntu and xubuntu. You think fedora core is better?
