Thumbs up Which Linux distro can I use that doesnt use a swapfile? For use on a flash device.

Hi all.

What a great forum! I have a question.

I am looking to use Linux on a flash device. As you may know, a flash device has a limited number of writes. So, I am looking for a Linux ditro that will run on a flash device with a limited amount of writes. This can be done with a version of Linux that doesn't use a swap file.

Has anyone ever used a Linux distro in such an environment, ie on a flash device?

If so, what do you suggest? It will be used as part of a touch screen system.

Many thanks for your help in advance.
John

Yeah, DamnSmallLinux can be installed on Flash.

No distro that I know of makes swap mandatory: It's just something you can have if you want.
