Im wondering which distro to use as my main distro, i use my pc for music and for studeying as im a student. im currently using Sled 10 but iv thought a lot about using fedora core, as i think that red hat may be more stable mature distro to chose.
could anyone help me or give there comments on which distro is best for general use or just post which distro you use and why you use it.
For general use I find either Fedora Core or Mandriva to be best suited for me personally. I use Mandriva 2007.0 on all my computers except one which is SPARC based so there's no port for it. I'm a student and a programmer so I have little time to fiddle with my OS's, I just like to get them up and running pretty quickly.
Thanks for that, i like fedora as its the old red hat linux that has been used in the server - enterprise market for a long time. the only reason why i dont run mandriva is because it has problems detecting my audio card and locks up straight away. i supose you could fix it..
This is the distro I use and recommend, Why because it works right out of the box. No need to configure Everything, everything just works. It also comes as a 1 CD install that is a live CD that you can install later if you wish.
