Which distro for PC without Internet connection

Hi
I want to install a Linux distro on a friend's computer (athlon xp 2600, 768 MB RAM ATI Radeon 9500 GPU) so that she can try it out. As this computer is not connected to the Internet I'd like to pick a distro which has all essential and useful programs packed onto a dvd. On the other side it should be lightweight to run reasonably well and easy to use for a beginner.

I tried fedora core 4 once but it failed to install due to harddrive geometry problems. I had Mandrake 10.1 community running, but it is quite outdated now and did not support her printer and other usb-devices.

Any suggestions?

thanks

Thomas

Like jacook said, then multiply by your favourite aunties birthday. This is a fraction of what is available. For a portable distro Puppy cant be beaten, it fits on a business card size CD, and the entire distro loads into memory, a whopping 35 or so Megabytes. This makes for a full system with Graphic interface office apps networking even a few games, and it is blindingly fast. I dare you to get your finger of the mouse button before it all happens. ...here in Australia we get distro after distro, free, on magazine cover disks. Grab a couple and have some fun. regards and seasons greetings from shorty943.

You need a static, release-based Linux distro: Best choice: Debian GNU/Linux Etch
