Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

As far as I can see, there are no free downloads of Yellow Dog Linux. You may take a look at DistroWatch http://distrowatch.com/
to if you want to find other distributions. Any particular reason you want yellow dog? There are lots of other free distros with great hardware support out there
I've been wondering what's up with Yellow Dog as well.
it gave me the best results on my ibook, but 4.01 didn't include Firefox and Thunderbird. they are supposedly included in 4.1, which if I'm reading correctly, was released on January 6th. according to terrasoft's site, new versions should be available for download 2 weeks after their release. it's been more than two weeks, but as hard as I look I cannot find 4.1 for download. it is only available for purchase from YDL.net, and since this is still just a toy for me, I'm not up for spending that much on a distro for the ibook.
anybody know why 4.1 is not available for free yet? or when it might be?
