Question upgrade problems. 12.04 lts to 14.04 lts

Hi When using the update manager in Ubuntu 12.04 lts, it checks through the software channels then crashes out. the error message is that third party software dependencies not met. Then it closes the update down.

What have I/forgotten to do?

running
Acer Revo 70 running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

Dear Itbod,
I remember when I updated from 10.04 to 12.04 that the update manager wrote something like: "please umake the changes to third party software"
Have you tried to uninstall third party software (noticing the name to reinstall it later on) and restart the update manager?
