Looking through LinuxQuestions' list in Distro Reviews, I find no mention of Unity.
I downloaded this distro from the University of Idaho mirror the other day and loaded it on my ancient Dell PIII I had maxed out at a 996 MHz CPU, 512MB RAM and an 80GB ATA 133 hard drive -- it runs GREAT!
I did run into a problem with the new Linux kernel -- it is too much for the P3 to handle (but this was my fault for not knowing the CPU's limitations). Otherwise, the boot time is a tremendous improvement over anything else I've tried, so far on my old machine.
Be careful with passwords on install, per usual. Also, the repos are limited. I recommend downloading the Open Office iso to install on this distro later, if so desired.
Overall, this minimal distro performs admirably and deserves a spot on your review list.
Hello hilyard
Unity is in rc1 stage you can find it at distrowatch if you have an older pc you may want to go here and pick up the latest tinyme it is based on unity linux and is built for older pc's http://distrowatch.com/index.php?dis...h=all&year=all
The other or beta areas would be a good place if you want to review it. A distro doesn't get it's own space there until there a re a set number of reviews (I think).
@rstob911 - you may be interested in this thread. You could get your official title - especially useful when providing support here. We also, if you are interested, offer distros their own dedicated sub-forum at LQ. The only requirement is that members of the distro team join here and participate in helping out the members. If either of these interest you, please email Jeremy at "jeremy[at]linuxquestions.org".

Unity Linux isn't really a distro, is it?
From the web site:
Quote:
Unity Linux, in itself, is not a full distribution. What our group provides is set of “core packages” (i.e. kernel, firmware, toolkits, Desktop Environments, etc) and the tools which make it very easy to remaster the core into a distribution of your liking targeting specific functionality (i.e. educational software, graphics editing, etc) or localizations (i.e. translations into other languages).
yes and no. It is a complete distro insofar as it provides a full DE environment so anyone can use it. However that's all you'll find on the livecd. Everything can be installed via the SMART package manager and all DE are covered there (gnome, KDE, E17, Openbox, LXDE and so on). It is designed as a blank canvas for distro development. We also segregate the branded packages so branches using our base can easily provide the "custom packages" without having to maintain a complete repository.
