Tosh Libretto 100 sub-laptop : FeatherLinux or VectorLinux?
I've just got an old Toshibra Libretto 100 miniture laptop as I'm travelling a lot and need to keep up on univeresity work. It's very old with the follow spec:
CPU: Pentium 166 MMX (stuck to this CPU)
RAM: 32mb (Can be upgraded to 64mb but no more)
HD: 2gb (can be upgraded)
NO CD ROM AND NO BOOTING FROM USB
I want to use it for basic word processing (MS Word compatability at a decent level is essential for Uni work here), web browsing (quite a lot of research, forums and blogging), Email and a bit of light HTML coding, FTP and very basic image viewing/editing (cropping/resizing/gama correction).
It currently has Win98 on it but the overheadeds of running the securfity fixes needed and the age of the OS I think makes this inefficient way of doing things, so would prefer a younger, lighter linux distro.
I have looked at the otpions and think Vector and Feather Linux may both be good distros to run on such a system, but would welcomes anyone elses take on which would be best, or if there is another alternative?
