Gentoo would take some broadband, something I'll be missing until I can get BellSuck to slap me on the DSL available list of phone numbers and get the Speakeasy jokers up in my slack new apartment. $2.95 extra a month per static IP... Uh, I'll take 5 and a side of fries.

Cheers,

$3.00 extra is ALL???? For static lines? Ugh! And I can't even get DSL! The world is a lopsided place for sure. I'm off to jump off my house. If i'm lucky I may break a leg.

p.s. since yer in an isp transition and gentoo is out and you don't wanna try suse, what about something oddball like Lunar-Linux?

Good Flat Sam!

The Gentoo converts are turning into Hari Krishnas... I'm... kinda... afraid... to... try... it...

Oh wait, that's right, I don't have, nor ever want again, a bloody dialup!

I've got to snag the ISO from work while I'm here, which limits me to... well a few dozen. So I guess I'll grab: Mandrake 8.2, Trustix (?!?!), and... ah I'll wait till the first two or done. 4CDs coming down at 400k+, sometimes my job doesn't suck.

Cheers,

Finegan

A flat is one of several abodes within a building.

Oh, and no-one says "buttmunching" over here, so I'm guessing it's a Beavis and Butthead infection or something...

I believe you Americans call them apartments. We are odd in calling them that, most other Languages (that I know of) call them something similar to apartment.

Yeah, the buttmunching was my attempt to combine the two different versions of English used. It's a really stupid word actually. I can't stand beavis and butthead. I never did understand why y'all call 'em flats? To each their own though. The slang words between the two English's? is the biggest difference i see...

I think that, as a general rule, we call 'em flats because they're all on one level - they are flat.

Ok, that makes a tad bit of sense to me. Is this the same as what we call, duplexes and townhomes? Or would we rather call them 'ramblers'? <---That's another i never got but i've always live in one...
