i was wondering if there are any browser only distros out there, a tiny one where it just needs to beable to open web pages, no word or anything. is there?
Linux is very configurable, was more so than Windows, so with any distribution you can choose to install as many or as few programs as you like. Most have very user friendly installations to help you with this!
I guess your reasoning is somewhat important. Are you trying to save space or limit functionality?
If you just want to limit functionality, as Feelda stated, you can remove or choose to avoid installing most everything with virtually any Linux distribution.
If you want to limit size, Puppy is great. (DSL is also small, but I have not used it.) Puppy comes with many of applications, but all of them are very lightweight, making the entire distribution substantially smaller than 100 MB.
