Go Live ,
hi
if u want to have the live cd/dvd go for knoppix it great, work's great, looks smart, it is using like using everything. oh but still i m waiting for the installable, stable version. take almost driver. greate software package. then after PCQlive because it fits on pendrive. more info can be found. www.pendrivelinux.com |
I used openSUSE, and i think that i may say me hardware is very good recognized... Even for computers with the intel core duo " Like the Mac " and ATI drivers, and wireless is no problem.
Also Mandriva and (K)Ubuntu are me favorites. For the daily use in the Art studio i have one p.c. running Kubuntu and one with openSUSE 11.0 and the Mac OS X Tiger. Greetings |
I would have to go with Ubuntu. I liked the "feel" of PCLinuxOS, but unfortunately it ran incredibly slow on two high end workstations.
Even after tweaking, it ran slow. After struggling for almost a week, i went back to Ubuntu. |

Regardless, there's a lot of good live CD's out there for hardware recognition. Almost all of which have been mentioned in this thread. I like Ubuntu, because I'm used to a Debian system, Knoppix is also good. I don't see it on your list and I've not used it in ages, but Sabayon used to have a very complete Live DVD. IGF |
