switching from mandriva to....?

ok, i've surfed the LQ forums and have found a lot of forums with basically the same question, but none really answering what i had in mind. i've also been to some distro websites and www.distrowatch.com
i want to switch distros from Mandriva 2005LE to something else relatively similar. i've tried both KDE and GNOME desktops, and i'd like to use something with KDE, and i'm a linux newbie, so it'd have to be pretty easy.

EDIT: i wanted red hat, but they stopped support for it

It is your own choice to make... Fedora or suse could be your best bet, look yourself if it suits your needs.

i think i'm going with SUSE - if i don't like it, i might try Fedora
