also, i could not fix this problem
even when trying to reinstall the xscreensaver and kdeartwork
package which was recommended by a SuSE tech (not supported)
Since I just installed SuSE 9.0 Pro, it was easy to just re-format :P
I think my screensavers may have been messed up because I choose
to install everything from the 5cds the first time.
I am guessing maybe a conflict???
Anyhow, I chose their default install the 2nd time around with a
few added packages like Samba server and all is well again.
