Suse pro 9.2 won't install on sata drive

The DVD which installs fine on an ide drive won't install on a sata drive (can't find it). Is Suse aware of this? Any fix idea?

What is the make and model of your Sata drive and controller ? Some (most ?) are supported - possibly if it's too new, then it may not be yet.

I have a Dell Dimension 8400 wit a Maxtor 250G SATA 7y250m0 hard drive. and Intel 82801FR SATA AHCI controller. What is AHCI?

I've tried unsuccessfully to install Red Hat, Suse9.2 Pro and Linspire 5.0 beta on this drive.

I have the same problem, what type of sata module driver do you try to load before the install begins?

I think the problem is that both of us have loaded the wrong sata module driver, but I can't find wich one.

My hard drive is a: Hitachi Deskstar 7K250 160GB S-ATA (8MB Chache 7200RPM).
