SuSE 9.1 Pro Internet problems
I just installed SuSE 9.1 Pro...but it won't connect to the internet. I have DSL so if like Fedora it would have automatically connected. Does anybody know how I could get my connection set up?
mjl_2007 -- people are willing to help you out, but you need to help us out by providing more information about your system, the commands you are running, the system responses you are getting, etc. All that you've described so far is that you are using Suse 9.1 but can't connect, which would be a little bit like calling your auto mechanic and saying "I've got a 2003 Ford but it won't start, what should I do?" That's just a little on the vague side, and without knowing more about your situation, there are just way too many possible factors to offer any meaningful advice.
Let's try this: please post full details about your machine - brand, model number, whether or not you are trying to connect using a built-in LAN connection or a separate NIC, etc. Secondly, what commands/steps are you performing to test your Internet connection, and what kinds of system behavior or error messages (exact wording) are you seeing? Please include whatever facts you think may be helpful.
Basically, the better a description you can provide, the better a reponse people can offer. I have no doubt that the nature of the problem is crystal clear from your standpoint, but since we can't see what you're seeing, we can only go on what you describe in your post. Sharing those details will increase the chance of getting helpful replies. Good luck with it -- J.W.

Well, I built my computer. It has an ASUS PC4800-E deluxe (something along those lines) motherboard in it. I have DSL internet. What I am basically asking though..is how do you set up the internet on SuSE?
