SUSE 9.1: named.conf works, but including separate conf files doesn't???

Hi all,

I'm using BIND 9 on SUSE 9.1, and if I add my zones to /etc/named.conf directly, everything works great.

However at the end of /etc/named.conf it states you should be able to simply list your files in /etc/sysconfig/named in the field NAMED_CONF_INCLUDE_FILES, then put those files in /etc/named.d. When I do this I don't see any errors msgs in /var/log/messages, and named starts fine, it just never loads anything. By putting the zone definitions directly in /etc/named.conf, everything works great.

I ran named-checkconf on all of my conf files and it returns nothing, which I assume means they're valid.

Is there a step I'm missing??? Is there a bug in SUSE 9.1? I'd rather do it the "right" way via includes then end-up with one huge named.conf file (which I have now and is running fine).

Thanks!
