I'm running it on a test machine:
Abit KT7A-Raid
athlon 1.13ghz
Radeon 7000 agp
384MB DDR ram
WD 20 GB (200BB)
Ensnq 16 pci
LiteOn 32X
Supra ext.modem
I've had nothing but problems:
I couldnt format with Reiserfs:it would go through the format and load 1.4 GB of data in about 6 minutes(a bit fast,eh? ) and at the end of the package installation part,I'd get an error message:
"346 packages report errors".
Read the install log and had nothing but reiser related errors and warnings. No,I didnt save them because they were mostly about reiser being unsure about free space.
Anyway,I reinstalled with ext3 and everything went without a hitch-or so I thought.
My internal Supra express wouldnt work and I found that it's not support according to the SuSE HCL.Okay,so I pull it(sell it in a windows build )
Hook up the external Supra and (after having to do a chmod on pppd)I set up kppp(isnt loaded by default) I dialed out and get constant exit 2 errors. Its set up just like all my other linux boxes.
Also the permission changes I made to pppd and doing the "activate non-root mode" in xcd-roast were all lost when I rebooted.
Upon restart I log in using KDE3 and it freezes.HARD FREEZES! No x restart, no CAD no power button.Just the reset button. And it always seems to freeze at the loading part of KDE3.
I hit reset(again) and try various other window managers and they all work fine,so I think I ve narrowed it down to either :
a. somthing is screwing up the loading of KDE stuff or
b.Ive either got a bad install cd,or
c.I have a cd drive that's not reading everything correctly during install.
Sorry if it seems like I took over this thread but these are the differences I noticed
