SuSE 8.2 with Cyrix MII-300 Problems

I'm having problems installing SuSE 8.2 on my Cyrix MII-300 machine. The official SuSE support team reckon that this cpu is not supported. If that really is the case (and I'd like to hear from anyone who has got it working), then I was wondering if there was any way I could modify the kernel (recompiling and so on). I'm a complete newbie so please keep it simple, but I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty.

Oh my god!!!
you are "heart" is very old!!! Suggest it is supported by suse82, you will never have good experience at this new distro. Why not buy a new machine ?
