Angry SuSE 8.2: stuck in TWM

Please excuse if im missing something here:

On boot into SuSE 8.2 at the login window manager I selected TWM (tab window manager) i think, to see what it would do.

I now cannot get my old login screen back where I may choose between kde.gnome, twm, and others.
My system reboots into TWM always with no other options or user logon available.
I tries editing in the sysconf through Yast2 in the Window manager section trying all the defaults and such. I also am able to boot into int 3 or textmode and do: export WINDOWMANAGER=/opt/kde3/bin/kde
export DISPLAYMANAGER=/opt/kde3/bin/kde

this gets me into kde directly, but it doesnt stick and I still have no logon screen with user and window choices.

Thanks in advance.

(Long Live Linux!)

fixed it

As root ran yast
selected SYSTEM -> EDITOR FOR SYSCONF

Once in checked out DESKTOP -> DESKTOP-BASICS
_ _There's a field called Default WM
That makes the systemwide default.

I also found I could got to KDE control center as root and set windows managers to default thereby removing TWM
