K, personally, I really like the blue curve look, just look. and I enjoy the 'default grub/gdm' selection and there use of making mozilla and other apps 'default'. (keep things simple upon first boot > e.g. don't have to define which apps opens up which mimes, etc.)
What really upsets me is, wheres the video player? I searched all seven CDs, nothing. I understand there doing away with mp3 codecs but... why keep out a video player? there was a bunch of other things but i forgot them...
Just seems imature for a day and age where video/music/default settings have been established and required to operate to strict standards.. Idunno... Food.
Anyone else see RH8 as an imature and lacking LOTS? Do like bluecurve and it's install however.

Yup, one of the main reasons I tossed RH8 was its loss of functionality in the multimedia domain. If you release an OS, it should build on those previous, not detract from it. You can download fixes for XMMS and install 3PP video software, but why add that hassle for the user?

Xandros is VERY nice as a desktop solution. If you're not into digging "under the hood" of the OS and you're looking for an M$ alternative, that just might be it.
