Redhat or SL

I'm wanting to switch over to either Redhat or SL. I've read arguements for both but I'm still not exactly sure what to do. Just wanted to know the various opinions people have about the two distro's here. So it may help me make a choice. Cheers!!

.. They're 99% the same, are they not?

Are you paying for RHEL and will you continue to pay for RHEL when your sub runs out? Use RHEL. Else, use SL.

Hi,

I fully agree with AlucardZero reply and have one thing to add:

You don't tell us in what environment you are going to use either RHEL or SL. If this is a very important production environment (fault tolerant/core business/etc) you might want to choose for RHEL, especially the support they offer. If, on the other hand, the environment is "less important" (home/small office/etc) the community help might suffice.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to be running it on my home environment as a desktop. I don't find 30 euros a year much paying for a subscription.
But I rather have it for free, but if RH is alot better than SL I wouldn't mind paying for it. And if SL runs just as RH I think I think I'd go for
SF.

The 30 Euro's is for access to the repository, not for support (if I remember correctly).

If this is a home environment I, like you, would choose for SL (or CentOS, but looking at your profile I do assume you want to ditch that one).
