I tried a new mouse, just in case. This fixed the problem with the lock up. I'm not sure if it was a faulty mouse, the new mouse was a wheel mouse which may have required a new driver.
I still have a problem with evolution 1.4. At times, the client locks up. IF I respond YES to the pop-up telling me that evolution is not responding, the process is killed but it also kills the gnome panel. Any application I have running is still usable but I can't start a new one. Also I noticed that the standard RH9 window manager has been replaced by a standard gnome window manager - no idea how this happened. I'm going to install RH9 from scratch rather than as an upgrade to RH7.3 and see if this helps. |
hi atlantis
as like your problem i had that problem. the reason of the problem also same: cd rom. my suggesion is don't edit fstab instead stop autofs service from hat menu or start menu>System Settings>Server Setting>Services.. there you find autofs, untick and stop the service then click Save Setting from file then quit now you may not encounter that problem anymore raghu |
Hello,
This what I had: Mouse stoped after about 3 seconds I moved it. When I switched to text console and back it worked for another 3 seconds. I figured maybe bios settings are wrong ? I guessed right - try to select "use usb mouse" to disabled. Cheers, Mike |
