Red Hat won't Shutdown / restart or Log Off

I have installed Red Hat 9 Yesterday and every time I tell Red hat to Switch Users, Log Off, Restart, Shut Down. All i get is a Black screen!

No matter which way i do it CTRL+ALT+F1: Blackscreen.

Click on Log Off: Blackscreen

I can't get off this Blackscreen so i have to reset my comp (My comp doesn't have a reset button so I have to pull out the Power Cord )

Thanks in Advance

Josh
