i don,t buy the red hat retail boxes, i like to get the red hat cd,s from the back of books, such as red hat bible, sams red hat. usually can get a 1000 page book and install cd,s for $30.
for example , the red hat bible 7.3 , are the cd,s in the back of this book the same as the cd,s in the red hat retail box?
i wish suse and mandrake would do this, i only notice this is done with red hat, why?
cos redhat is more of an industry standard. you're usually so hard pressed to find substantial differences between those sorts of distros that every bit of info in the rh73 book is really likely to apply to the others anyway
i am beginning to notice that between different distro,s. one other question if i may. when one goes to the red hat download site at http://www.distrowatch.com,there will quite a number of listisngs for red hat downloads. i have noticied that a number of different universitys are listed(like wisconsins site, fast and effiecient). some of these sites have contribution listed beside there link, does that mean they have added to the kernal. thanks ron
