Red Hat 7.3 and some RH 8.0 questions

Hi,

I am running RH 7.3 at the moment. I have a problem in that my / partititon is full, and I want to delete something but I don't know what. I am still somewhat used to windows, and its buggin me that all the programs installed don't just each have its own folder. I know that I have lots of junk installed on my / partition, but I don't know what to delete and what to keep.

I know how stupid this sounds, but hopefully you can see what I am trying to say. What is the usual bloat that one can delete from the / partition? I am sure that I don't use all of the programs that are there. At least can someone tell mehow I can see what files belong to what program, so I know what to remove???

Another thing: I have just gotten my system all pimped up, and its running really smooth. But i have 'upgradeitis' now and I don't know if I should install RH 8.0 or not. I am using WindowMaker as my WM so I am not interested in any XP-like teletubby shite that is new in G2 and KDE, but are there any new features or improvemnets that I am missing out on by staying with RH 7.3?

Cheers,

Vlad.

Clean out /home and /var/log/ and/ tmp.I'd look thru each carefully to be sure you dont delete somthing you want to save. And dont just delete /var/log itself-look at it with konquerer to see the file sizes and wether you're allowed as a regular user to delete certain things.
There's probably other stuff you can delete also,I just havent thought of them.

Don't upgrade, I had the same 'upgradeitis' and I am now bitterly disapointed with 8.0. wait for 8.1 so they have the bugs out, as you'll kick yourself if you do.
