Query on RedHat Cluster

Hi,

We are deploying 2 node NFS cluster on Virtual Machines at our hosting site. To fence the VM, we would like to use fence_vmware agent which requires vSphere credentials for root user.

For example:
fence_vmware -a <ESX IP address> -l root -p <password> -n nfs02 -o reboot

But due to security reasons, my hosting company does not want to provide the vSphere credentials.

1) Is there any way to fence the VM with out vSphere credentials?
2) Can we create the NFS cluster with out fencing? Is it possible in RedHat Cluster?
3) Can we create any guest user on ESX with only limited permissions to fence the server?

Could some one please help me on this ASAP as I am struck on this.

Thanks In Advance,
Yogendra.

First, we volunteer our time here....don't ask for people to help you ASAP...we answer when we can/want to. If you need ASAP support, contact VMware or Red Hat, since you're PAYING for both of them, right?

If you're using RHEL on VMware ESX, both are commercial products...have you contacted Red Hat and/or VMware support? Without the credentials, there's not much you can do, as far as I know.

The complete RHEL Clustering guide can be found on Red Hat's website. Since you need help 'ASAP', check there and call support.
