problems finilazing a gentoo hardened instaliation

hi, i am just finishing up my first hardened gentoo install and i have come across a problem.
im trying to run grub-install --root-directory=/boot /dev/hda and it says

Quote:
/dev/loop0 does not have any corresponding BIOS drive.
also i keep getting a message about permission denied. i got it the fist time i ran the above command with the above error but now i just get the above error. when i sign in it says about my default conxent and whether i want to change it. i cant actually remember the permission denied messages said but i have never seen anything like them before and i mean on any unix system i have used, including gentoo.

can anyone give me any advice because i cant finish my instaliation which means i cant play with my new hardened gentoo .

thanks in advance, ben.

Actually I solved this by just deleting the /loop0 references from /etc/mtab... then grub was perfectly happy.
