ppp*

I'm running SuSE 7.3 Personal.
I used YaST2 to configure ADSL. It work, up until my system crashed. I broke a commandment I think, I did a hard shutdown. I pushed the power button with unmounting.

Since then, in the console when I log in, there's a message that there's a wierd character 'ppp*"

If I try KInternet, I get an error about smpppd not running or I don't have dialout permission, even if I'm root.

If there a fiel I need to fix because of my shutdown? If you need the exact messages let me know.

Thanks,

Erik

P.S. If I remember correctly, the system crash when I was tryign to read a CD that I had burned but have been having problems with in windows.
