Ok, well first I am going to backup one step, I re-installed openbsd 5.1 with disc #2 and all is well. My first question is what disc do I install into cd drive to load packages of KDE from now or is this not poss. yet?? Is it #3 cd? On the pamflet it says Cd#3 contains the source tree in src.tar.gz. Using this tree it is possible to get a head-start on using the anoncvs servers as described at:
http://www.OpenBSD.org/anoncvs.html. Using these files results in a much faster initial CVS update than you could expect if you were to make a fresh checkout of the full OpenBSD source treee. Assuming the CD is mounted on /mnt:
# cd / usr/src
# tar xvzf /mnt/src.tar.gz
After this , /usr/src will be a checkout area where all cvs(1) commands will work OK. For more refer:
http://www.OpenBSD.org/anoncvs.html
Says it also contains: ports.tar.gz Our ports tree. Refer to CD#3:/PORTS
xenocara.tar.gz A CVS checkout of our version of the X source tree. Important man pages to read are afterboot(8), config(8), and options(4), which will describe how to config your system.
The other part that I was receiving a error message on is after I typed this:
# mkdir -p /cdrom
# mount /dev/cd0a /cdrom
# cd /cdrom/5.1/packages/OpenBSD.amd64
# pkg_add kdebase 3.5.10.p16.tgz ck. sp?
# umount /cdrom
And the first cd is for i386 computers, at least thats what it says on it.
this is how the pamflet say to install packages. So, where to go from here would be a good start I quess. If you have a suggestion....thanks Tony
