Question No Hard-disk Found!!help Me!!


Dear all,I have a problem;I have just tried 3 different live distros :SimpleMepis,Gentoo,Belenix and with all of them I can't find my HD.I've tried to find in /mnt and in others,but nothing!!
What can I do?

What kind of hardware do you have? If it's a really new machine that uses SATA drives, there's a chance that the kernels in those distros do not yet support your SATA controller. Post your hardware and maybe we can help you out a little bit more.

I have FUJITSU-SIEMENS AMILO D1845,PIV;
It'very strange because I've tried Knoppix Live just now,and I can find my HD;what do you think about?can you help me?thanks

hi there,
take a close look in which modules knoppix has loaded.
Code:
lsmod
you will probably see what is missing in compare with the distros that you mentioned.

OK!I'm going to try,but..have I to digit lsmod in shell root? or where?
