new distro: lnx-bbc based
 

i would like to get an installer for lnx-bbc. i would like to be able to add programs (like Abiword and mozilla firefox) to lnx-bbc, so all i would have to do is open the installer while running lnx-bbc, have it ask what partitions to install to, and click an install button, and it's done.

so question 1 is: how do i add programs to linux BBC? i have it as an ISO file and as a burned mini-cd. i want to download firefox and abiword, and run it in lnx-bbc.

question 2: is there/where is the installer for lnx-bbc? i know there isnt one by default, so is there one to download?

basically, i want to create a customized distro cd that can run live or install to the hard drive. slackware 9.1 is awsome, but 2 GB Full install for what? it may not have all the crap of mandrake or suse, but its way bigger in size. im looking to keep this distro on a mini-cd, those 200MB ones, so i know we can fit it all in there. i would like some instructions on how to do this, and i will look at all the polls to find out all the most commonly used apps (mail clients, word processors, the whole shebang)

does anyone want to help? if not, please tell me what i need to do to get started.

please, no critisism though, i know there's lots of distros out there, and mini distros, but they just arent what i need, and im sure lots of othe rpeople are looking for the same thing as me: a small distro that can fit in your pocket, and is less than a 100MB download (for all the 56k users out there, like me) downloading distro after distro is painful on dialup, and pay services can get expensive and frustrating. i know, i use almostfreelinux.com, and as soon as i got mandrake 9.1, 9.2 was released 2 days later. i bough knoppix, and the new knoppix 3.4 is released within the week. im getting sick of it. this dsitro wont need any updating, or customization. just install and use. if you need a program, download it and use it, but oyu probably wont have to because most standard programs are already on here.

basically, so summarize things, all i want to do is add programs to the lnx-bbc disc, and add an installer (and give you the choice of GRUB or LILO). "everything but junk on 3 inches of plastic"

i dont understand a word of it. i do most of my work in windows for now, at least until i get DSL.

first: look at lnx-bbc.com, and they have a section about GAR, thats what they use to automate the process of making the lnx-bbc.

second: slackware is what you make it, if you do the default "full install" its gona be huge and its gona have packages the colide with eachother, but as i installed it using the package selection install, i have everythging ill use excpet for GNOME or KDE and it takes 900mb

ok, ive changed my mind. morphix is better, because you can create modules for it. there is a default minimal X with jsut the bare XF86 on it, and nothing else. i can use that, and put abi word, gimp, and firefox on it. only problem is, morphix is very unclear as to what to do to make and unbuild modules.
