Need Help with Mandrake Upgrade

How would I go about upgrading my Mandrake 8.0 distro to 8.1? Is this even possible without a full reinstall?

Thanks in advance.

I've heard of a program called "ghost" ?

Would you recommend using this? The burner is in my computer running XP.

What is ghost.. some sort of burning software ?? You should be able to burn a linux iso in XP with no problem.

jason,

When you burn the CD, be sure to choose "create CD from image" in whatever burning software you use. Do NOT simply burn the whole iso image to the CD as one big file. You're creating the CD from image, not burning the image file itself to the CD.

I made that mistake the first time I tried it and felt pretty stupid.

Creating the CD from an iso image makes it bootable.

Some burning software supports this (Easy CD Creator, etc) and some doesn't (free stuff that often comes with burners).

tricky,

Ghost is a Symantec program used to build a computer and then make a copy of the hard drive for multicasting to other computers. Say you get in 100 identical machines....build one copy of the software exactly as you like it, then make a ghost "image." Then hook them all to some switches and a ghostcast server and then multicast the image to all the others simultaneously. It saves a lot of time.
