my own lin dis.

I plan to mak e my own lin. distro., please tell me after install a new kernel from mandrake , how must I do to boot into the new kernel console ?

You want to reboot your system with the new kernel? Then just edit grub.conf or lilo.conf (and rerun lilo) to point to the new kernel and reboot.

Compiling the kernel is not making your own distro. Check out LFS (Linux From Scratch) to create your own distro.
