--MP Bios bug 8254 :timer not connected to IO-APIC
 

Hi

I installed federo8 on my PC.installation is done,but while booting i get this error and PC hangs while entering user name and password

--MP Bios bug 8254 :timer not connected to IO-APIC

Most of forums suggested to pass this "acpi=off noapic" parameter to kernel.But when i pass it ,i got the fallowing error

Bios bug no explicit IRQ entries using default mptables.(contact vendor)

Please suggest some possible solutions.

Have you tried passing only "noapic".That works for me.

I tried passing only "noapic".still get this same error message while booting,hangs after all initializations.
