most popular linux or unix distribution

hi,
i want to ask if some one know(with statistics) which Linux distribution
is most popular for servers and end users.

Here's one set of numbers.

Measuring market share for anything related to Linux is nearly impossible. It's difficult with Windows, but it's just plain impossible to get hard data on installations, or more importantly, usage.

Ubuntu is almost certainly the most used Linux distribution on desktops. On the server Red Hat is most popular and Novell second, though again, it's not possible to measure market share accurately.

I think "popularity" is virtually meaningless. For corporate or enterprise use, not all distros are going to be represented, just the ones aimed at that market: RHEL, SuSE, etc. debian or slackware or other distros based on them aren't going to be reflected in the results.

For end users, maybe there is slightly more validity, but although a distro being "popular" might lead someone to try it, at the end of the day people simply will use what they like best anyway, regardless of what is "popular."

Is there a particular reason for the question? just curious.
