Not seeing a separate Manjaro sub-forum, I thought I would just post here.
After trying several distros in VM, I settled on Manjaro. I'm not smart, and though I've been using Ubuntu for many years, I consider myself ignorant as to how Linux works. But Ubuntu was getting slow on my old machine and I was wanting something more lightweight. I tried Xubuntu, but just couldn't get to liking it, and it seemed only a little faster than Ubuntu. After installing Manjaro, my old laptop leaped back to life. I am really enjoying it.
So, I want to express my appreciation to the Manjaro team hear on LQ.
I'm using XFCE. Like I said, I'm not too steady on my feet as to Linux, and that DE seemed like something I could do. I tried Enlightenment on a VM, and kind of liked it, but I seemed more comfortable with XFCE. Maybe I'll change in the future as I get time to experiment with others in VM.
I had tried other Debian and Ubuntu based distros, but I liked the rolling release of Manjaro. I often would be several versions back on Ubuntu just because I wouldn't have the time to install the latest.
I just switch to Manjaro from Xubuntu a few days ago myself. Love it so far. Basically I got tired waiting for the in place Xubuntu distro upgrade. So I decided that I will go distro hopping again and try something different.
