Making a new distribution

Hi!

Before I'll get flamed!! I want to do a new distribution, (just for myself) ...I am using Slackware at the moment...but are not entirely happy..I want to have some other packages than Slackware is using and so on...so I decided to make my own distribution...

but searching on the net..I can't find any information about this subject....I found LFS, but it is not quite what I am looking for since I wanna make installation cd´s ...(NOT Live-Cds)....I am thinking about making a fork of Slackware (as soo many else) and I want to integrate like Dropline gnome, exclude KDE and so on...maybe include a new package manager (or improve the one there is.)

where may I find good information about this subject? anyone willing to share their thoughts about this? how to make my own distribution fork?

appreciate all answers

friendly wishes

I've never done it, but I've skimmed through the site - this might help you.
