Hello. I was looking for an extremely vanilla linux system. What I want is a nice installer that leaves me with a command-line when I boot up with nothing but the built-in commands such as 'cd' and 'ls' as well as 'apt-get'.

If possible I would also love to have a FULLL respiratory of 'original' software. Currently I am using Ubuntu Minimal install but the problem with this is that all the software in their respo is slightly modified to a Ubuntu version with small differences.

I don't care if it is a distro. If this doesn't exist I was thinking of creating a 'White Linux' distro which does just this. I was thinking it would be useful for people who want to start to learn how the programs in a UNIX/Linux system fit together. I also though this would be useful for bug testing because it would allow you to install only a program and it's unmodified dependencies so you know there is no interference.

On the same note does anyone think of this as a worthwhile/useful idea?

Slackware
Arch

Definitely though about this and might do this if I can't find a suitable distro.
Unfortunaly they don't have a 64bit version although I might self-compile.
Never looked at this one so i'll take a peak.
