What I mean by my question is are there any prepackaged installers that come with a linux distro? I'd hate to have to do that to 500 workstations. In other words, I'll need some form of distro that I can buy that comes with tech support for this specific situation. Has anybody heard of *that*?
I think it depends on how the XP computers are set up. On my laptop, which has XP, the installation program set up lilo without a problem. On my desktop, I had to use the above procedure. Mandrake does allow you to save your installation selection. I believe that SUSE and Red Hat do also, which allows for automated installation. But if you are going to set up 500 computers, you probably want to go to the distro´s web page for info.
