hey all i would just know where to locate a list of all the live cd distros, i would like live cd distros that preverably run in ramdisk so i can eject the disk but this is not a neccesary.
so far i have tried the following:
puppy,
feather,
knoppix (ages ago)
ubuntu (wouldnt let disk eject )
PCLinuxOS .92 http://www.pclinuxos.com/page.php?7
This is the distro I use and recommend, Why because it works right out of the box. No need to configure Everything, everything just works. It also comes as a 1 CD install that is a live CD that you can install later if you wish. Everything you need in A distro
Mephis http://www.mepis.org/
Everything you will ever need on 1 CD. Hardware detection is exelent, as is the feel and look of the distro

Goto this page and select Live DVD & CD. Distrowatch currently lists 223 live distros.
anyone have a favourite live distro? if so what is it and why?
thanks again, chris
Rhino Desktop Linux Live cd, it's a cut down polished version of slackware 10. My favourite because I made it. Added all the things that I like to have on a desktop that aren't included by standard by most distros. Compiled a 2.6.17.11 kernel added unionfs, squashfs and AESloop support for encrypting hard drives, which is next on the list of things to do.
Nowhere at the moment, since slackware 11 has come out I have been busy rebuilding the live cd, ironing out a few things in the graphical installer, and having some issues with the dencrypting boot cd for the encrypted installation.
Like most things it will be a beta release, and I don't know how it will go on systems with SCSI or SATA drives, since I don't own any hardware like that I cannot guarantee that it will work. But hopefully mid january should have something out and working by then.
