Linuxmce

Hi again, I will probably be shot down in flames for posting in the wrong place (no offence intended), but here goes.

I have been looking for some time now about building my own media center - even posted a thread "Linux Media Center". I have recently been looking at Linuxmce which seems to have a bit of a following.

The research I have done points towards Linuxmce being a good contender for the windows media center (that's if we need to include windows).

The side of things that seems a little week is the compatibility issue. What to buy? What will work? They have, as most Linux distros, setup a forum to answer such questions, but I think they are a bit new at the mo.

One would assume that the developers would release a "what you need" list, but I haven't been able to find one.

I have a Nad HiFi system that I would like to integrate into my media center.

Is there anyone who has some experience of Linuxmce? can someone give me a run down of things that I will need to buy in order to build a reasonable system that is Linuxmce compatible?

The homepage for that project does have a "Compatible Products and Services" link.

Thanks for the info, but I have already tried that link and it is the forum. There appears not to be an official requirments list.

That forum does have users posting the configurations that they are using that work well for them. The very first post seems pretty thorough; it seems to be what you asked for. Their Wiki FAQ also contains some useful information, and points to the MythTV hardware requirements.

Thanks again macemoneta, I will do some more research on their website.
